የአገሪቱ ገዢ ፓርቲ ብልጽግና ምክትል ፕሬዝዳንት የሆኑት፤ ምክትል ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር እና የውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስትር ደመቀ መኮንንን ከፓርቲ ኃላፊነታቸው መሰናበታቸው ተገለጸ።

የፓርቲው ማዕከላዊ ኮሚቴ እንዳለው “የአመራር የመተካካት መርኅን እና የአሠራር ሥርዓት በመከተል” አቶ ደመቀን በክብር መሸኘታቸውን ገልጿል።

አቶ ደመቀን በመተካትም የብሔራዊ መረጃ እና ደኅንነት አገልግሎት ዋና ዳይሬክተር እና የፓርቲው ሥራ አስፈጻሚ አባል አቶ ተመስገን ጥሩነህ የብልጽግና ምክትል ፕሬዝዳንት ሆነው ተመርጠዋል።

አቶ ደመቀ ከፓርቲ አመራርነታቸው መሰናበት በአገሪቱን መንግሥት ውስጥ ይዘው ከሚገኙት ምክትል ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር እና የውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስትር ቦታን ሊለቁ እንደሚችሉ አመላካች ነው።

አቶ ደመቀ መኮንን ለረጅም ዓመታት ምክትል ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ሆነው ሲሰሩ ከቆዩ በኋላ ነበር አቶ ገዱ አንዳርጋቸውን በመተካት የውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስትርነት ቦታን የያዙት።

በቀድሞው ኢህአዴግ እና በአሁኑ ብልጽግና ፓርቲው ውስጥ ቁልፍ ሥልጣንን ይዘው የቆዩት አቶ ደመቀ፤ ከጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ዐቢይ በመቀጠል በፓርቲው ካሉት ሁለት ምክትል ፕሬዝዳንቶች መካከል አንዱ ነበሩ።

የብልጽግና ፓርቲ የመጀመሪያውን ጠቅላላ ጉባኤውን መጋቢት ወር 2014 ዓ.ም. ባካሄደበት ጊዜ፣ አቶ ደመቀ መኮንን ከፓርቲው የአመራርነት ቦታ የመልቀቅ ጥያቄ አቅርበው እንደነበር በወቅቱ መገለጹ ይታወሳል።

Ato Demeke’s resignation from his party leadership is an indication that he may leave the position of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs in the country’s government.

It was after Demeke Mekonen had been working as Deputy Prime Minister for many years that Gedu replaced Andargahe and assumed the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Mr. Demeke, who held key positions in the former EPRDF and the current Prosperity Party; After Prime Minister Abiy, he was one of the two vice presidents of the party.

Prosperity Party held its first general meeting in March 2014. It can be recalled that at the time of his conduct, Mr. Demeke Mekon had submitted a request to resign from the leadership position of the party.
