በአማራ ክልል ከተጣለው የአስቸኳይ ጊዜ አዋጅ ጋር በተያያዘ ለወራት በቁጥጥር ስር የሚገኙት የአዲስ አበባ ከተማ ምክር ቤት አባል የሆኑት ካሣ ተሻገር (ዶ/ር) ያለመከሰስ መብት ተነሳ።

የአዲስ አበባ ከተማ ምክር ቤት ዛሬ በጀመረው የ3ኛ ዓመት የሥራ ዘመን 2ኛ መደበኛ ጉባኤውን በሚያካሂድበት ጊዜ ነው የከተማው ምክር ቤት የአባሉን ካሣ ተሻገርን (ዶ/ር) ያለመከሰስ መብት በአብላጫ ድምጽ ያነሳው።

ካሳ (ዶ/ር) የገዢው ብልጽግና ፓርቲ ዕጩ ሆነው በአዲስ አበባ የካ ክፍለ ከተማ ውስጥ በመወዳደር ነበር ለከተማው ምክር ቤት እንደራሴነት የተመረጡት።

ባለፈው ዓመት መጨረሻ አካባቢ በአማራ ክልል የተከሰተውን አለመረጋጋት ተከትሎ በክልሉ እንዲሁም እንዳስፈላጊነቱ በመላው አገሪቱ ተግባራዊ ይሆናል በተባለው የአስቸኳይ ጊዜ አዋጅ ነበር ካሳ (ዶ/ር) በቁጥጥር ስር የዋሉ።

የከተማዋ ምክር ቤት አባሉ ያለመከሰስ መብታቸው ሳይነሳ ለወራት በአዲስ አበባ እና በአዋሽ አርባ በእስር ላይ የቆዩ ሲሆን፣ ለስድስት ወራት የተደነገገው የአስቸኳይ ጊዜ አዋጅ ከመጠናቀቁ በፊት የሕዝብ ተወካዮች ምክር ቤት ለአራት ወራት እንዲራዘም ከወሰነ ከሳምንታት በኋላ ነው ያለመከሰስ መብታቸው እንዲነሳ ምክር ቤቱ የወሰነው።

የአዲስ አበባ ከተማ አስተዳደር ምክር ቤት የአባሉን ያለመከሰስ መብት ያነሳው የፍትህ ሚኒስቴር ያቀረበውን ጥያቄ ተከትሎ፣ የምክር ቤቱ የሰላም፣ ፍትህ እና የመልካም አስተዳደር ጉዳዮች ቋሚ ኮሚቴ የቀረበለትን ጥያቄ እንዲሁም ዝርዝር መረጃዎችን መርምሮ ለምክር ቤቱ የውሳኔ ሃሳብ ካቀረበ በኋላ ነው።

ለወራት በእስር ላይ የሚገኙት እንደራሴው በተለያዩ ቦታዎች በቆዩበት ጊዜ የጤና እክል አጋጥሟቸው እንደነበረ ቤተሰቦቻቸው የተናገሩ ሲሆን፣ ባለፈው ጥር ለወራት ከቆዩበት የአዋሽ አርባ ወታደራዊ ማዕከል ከሌሎች የምክር ቤት አባላት ጋር ወደ አዲስ አበባ መዘዋወራቸውን መዘገባችን ይታወሳል

Addis Ababa city council member Kasa Teshager (Dr.), who has been under arrest for months in connection with the state of emergency imposed in the Amhara region, has been granted immunity.

Addis Ababa City Council is holding its 2nd regular meeting in the 3rd year of its term that started today.

Kasa (Dr.) was elected to the city council as a candidate for the ruling Prosperity Party in Addis Ababa’s Ka sub-city.

Following the unrest in the Amhara region at the end of last year, Kasa (Dr.) was arrested during the state of emergency that was supposed to be implemented in the region as well as the entire country.

The members of the city council have been in prison in Addis Ababa and Awash Arba for months without their immunity being waived. The council decided to waive their immunity weeks after the House of Representatives decided to extend the six-month state of emergency.

The Addis Ababa City Council lifted its member’s immunity following a request from the Ministry of Justice, after the Council’s Standing Committee on Peace, Justice and Good Governance examined the request and detailed information and submitted a recommendation to the Council.

The families of those who have been imprisoned for months, like myself, have suffered health problems while staying in different places. It is recalled that we reported that they moved to Addis Ababa from the Awash Arba military center where they stayed for months last January.
