ክስተቱ የተከሰተው እሑድ እኩለ ቀን ላይ መሆኑ ተነግሯል።

ግለሰቡ ሲቃጠል “ፍልስጤም ነፃ ትውጣ” እያለ ሲጮህ የሚያሳይ ነው የተባለ ቪዲዮ በማህበራዊ ሚዲያ መውጣቱን የአሜሪካ ሚዲያዎች ዘግበዋል።

የአሜሪካ የደህንነት አገልግሎት መኮንኖች ከግለሰቡ ላይ እሳቱን ማጥፋታቸው ታውቋል።

ግለሰቡ ከባድ እና ለሕይወት አስጊ የሆኑ ጉዳቶች አጋጥመውት ወደ ሆስፒታል መወሰዱን የከተማው የእሳት አደጋ መከላከያ ዘግቧል።

ከግለሰቡ ጋር ሊገናኝ ይችላል የተባለ አጠራጣሪ መኪና ላይ በተፈጠረ ስጋት የተነሳ የቦምብ ማስወገጃ ሰራተኞች እንዲመለከቱት ተደርጓል።

በኋላም ምንም አደገኛ ቁሳቁሶች እንዳልተገኙ እና ደህንነቱ የተጠበቀ ነው ተብሏል።

በድርጊቱ የኤምባሲው ሠራተኞች ጉዳት እንዳልደረሰባቸው የኤምባሲው ቃል አቀባይ ለኒውዮርክ ታይምስ ተናግረዋል።

የእስራኤል የውጭ ጉዳይ ሚኒስቴር በሰጠው መግለጫ ግለሰቡ በኤምባሲው ሠራተኞች ዘንድ እንደማይታወቅ ተናግሯል።

A member of the US Air Force has set himself on fire in front of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC, US emergency services have announced.

It is said that the incident took place on Sunday afternoon.

American media reported that a video of the man shouting “Free Palestine” was released on social media.

It is known that the officers of the American Security Service put out the fire from the person.

The man was taken to a hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries, according to the city fire department.

US media reported that the man was a member of the Air Force, citing a US Air Force spokesman.

The Washington Police Department is investigating along with law enforcement and other relevant authorities.

In a statement, the police mentioned that the incident took place in the area where several embassies are located and announced that they have sent their personnel to assist the American security services.

The statement added that an “adult male” was taken to hospital and was in “critical condition”.

Bomb disposal crews were dispatched to look at a suspicious vehicle that may have been linked to the man.

It was later declared safe and no hazardous materials were found.

A spokesman for the embassy told the New York Times that the embassy staff were not injured.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the man was not known to embassy staff.

This is not the first time the man has set himself on fire in front of the US Israeli consulate.
