በሶማሊያ አየር ክልል ውስጥ ሲበሩ የነበሩት የኢትዮጵያ እና የኳታር አየር መንገድ አውሮፕላኖች በሞቃዲሾ የአየር ትራፊክ ተቆጣጣሪዎች ስህተት ምክንያት ሊጋጩ ተቃርበው ነበር በተባለው ክስተት ዙሪያ የኢትዮጵያ አየር መንገድ ምላሽ ሰጠ።

ቅዳሜ የካቲት 16/2016 ዓ.ም. ከአዲስ አበባ ወደ ዱባይ ሲጓዝ የነበረው የበረራ ቁጥር 602 አውሮፕላኑ በነበረበት ከፍታ ላይ የኳታር አውሮፕላን እየቀረበው እንደነበር መረጃ እንደተቀበለ የኢትዮጵያ አየር መንገድ ለቢቢሲ ሶማሊ በሰጠው ምላሽ ገልጿል።

ክስተቱን በተመለከተ ለተጨማሪ ምርመራ እንዲሁም የእርምት እርምጃ እንዲወሰድ ለኢትዮጵያ እንዲሁም ለሶማሊያ የሲቪል አቪዬሽን ባለሥልጣናት ሪፖርት መደረጉንም አየር መንገዱ አመልክቷል።

የኢትዮጵያ አየር መንገድ የሶማሊላንድ አቪዬሽን ባለሥልጣን ሁለቱ አውሮፕላኖች ለመጋጨት በአደገኛ ርቀት ነበር ላይ ስለመባሉ ያለው ነገር የለም።

የሶማሊላንድ አቪዬሽን የኳታር አውሮፕላን (ኳታር 6ዩ) ከሞቃዲሾ የአየር ትራፊክ ተቆጣጣሪዎች በተሰጠው የተሳሳተ መረጃ ከፍታውን በመጨመሩ ከኢትዮጵያው አውሮፕላን ጋር አደገኛ በሆነ ርቀት ላይ እንደነበሩ እና ሊጋጩ ተቃርበው ነበር ሲልም አስታውቆ ነበር።

የሶማሊያ አቪዬሽን ባለሥልጣን በበኩሉ በሁለቱ አውሮፕላን መካከል የነበረው ርቀት ለአደጋ ስጋት ላይ የሚጥል አይደለም ሲል አስተባብሏል።

“በሁለቱ አውሮፕላኖች መካከል የነበረው ርቀት አደጋ አልነበረውም። በዓለም ላይ በተለመደው የከፍታ ርቀት ላይ ነበሩ” ሲሉም የሶማሊያ አቪዬሽን ባለሥልጣን አሕመድ ማኬሊን ሃሰን ለቢቢሲ ሶማሊ ተናግረው ነበር።

በሶማሊያ የአየር ክልል ላይ ከአዲስ አበባ ወደ ዱባይ በ39 ሺህ የጫማ ከፍታ እየበረረ የነበረው የኢትዮጵያ አየር መንገድ አውሮፕላን በረራ ቁጥር 602 በነበረበት ከፍታ ሌላ አውሮፕላን እየተጠጋው እንደሆነ የትራፊክ ምክር (የትራፊክ አድቫይዘሪ) እንደደረሰው አስታውቋል።

ንብረትነቱ የኳታር የሆነው (ኳታር 6ዩ) አውሮፕላን ከቀኑ 6፡32 አካባቢ የኢትዮጵያ አየር መንገድ አውሮፕላን እየበረረ በነበረበት ከፍታ ላይ እየተቃረበ ነው የሚልም የትራፊክ አድቫይዘሪ እንደደረሰው የኢትዮጵያ አየር መንገድ ለቢቢሲ ሶማሊ በኢሜይል በሰጠው ምላሽ ገልጿል።

ከዶሃ ወደ ኡጋንዳ እየበረረ የነበረው የኳታር አውሮፕላን መጀመሪያ ላይ በ38 ሺህ ጫማ ሲበር የነበረ ቢሆንም፣ በዳታ ሊንክ በተሰጠው መረጃ ወደ 40 ሺህ ጫማ ከፍ እንዲል ፍቃድ እንዳገኘ ሪፖርት ማድረጉን የኢትዮጵያ አየር መንገድ ጠቅሷል።

ይህ ክስተት በተፈጠረበት ወቅት በሁለቱ አውሮፕላኖች መካከል የነበረው ርቀት 23 ኪሎ ሜትር ርቀት ነበር ብሏል።

“ሁለቱም አውሮፕላኖች እጅግ ዘመናዊ የሆነ የግጭት መከላከያ ሥርዓት (ትራፊክ አቮይዳንስ ኮሊዥን ሲስተም) የተገጠመላቸው ሲሆን ይህ ከስተት በተፈጠረበት ወቅትም በሁለቱ አውሮፕላኖች መካከል የነበረው ርቀት 13 ናውቲካል ማይልስ (23 ኪሎሜትር) ነበር” ብሏል።

Ethiopian Airlines has responded to the incident where Ethiopian and Qatar Airways planes flying in Somalia’s airspace almost collided due to an error by air traffic controllers in Mogadishu.

Saturday February 16/2016 Ethiopian Airlines said in its response to BBC Somalia that it received information that a Qatari plane was approaching the flight number 602, which was traveling from Addis Ababa to Dubai.

The airline also indicated that a report has been made to the civil aviation authorities of Ethiopia and Somalia for further investigation and corrective action regarding the incident.

The Somaliland Aviation Authority of Ethiopian Airlines has not said anything about the fact that the two planes were at a dangerous distance to collide.

Somaliland Aviation announced that the Qatari plane (Qatar 6U) increased altitude due to wrong information given by air traffic controllers in Mogadishu and was at a dangerous distance from the Ethiopian plane and was about to collide.

Somalia’s aviation authority denied that the distance between the two planes was not dangerous.

“The distance between the two planes was not dangerous. They were at the normal altitude range in the world,” Somali aviation official Ahmed McLean Hassan told BBC Somalia.

Ethiopian Airlines Flight 602, which was flying from Addis Ababa to Dubai at an altitude of 39,000 feet in the airspace of Somalia, has announced that it has received a traffic advisory that another plane is approaching it.

The Qatari-owned plane (Qatar 6U) received a traffic advisory at around 6:32 p.m. that it was approaching the altitude where the Ethiopian Airlines plane was flying, Ethiopian Airlines said in an email response to BBC Somalia.

Ethiopian Airlines mentioned that the Qatari plane which was flying from Doha to Uganda was initially flying at 38,000 feet, but according to the information provided by Datalink, it received permission to climb to 40,000 feet.

He said the distance between the two planes at the time of the incident was 23 km.

“Both planes are equipped with a very modern collision prevention system (Traffic Avoidance Collision System) and at the time of this incident, the distance between the two planes was 13 nautical miles (23 kilometers),” he said.
