የአሜሪካ መንግሥት የአፍሪካ ቀንድ ልዩ መልዕክተኛ አምባሳደር ማይክ ሐመር በኢትዮጵያ መንግሥት እና በህወሓት መካከል በተደረሰው ስምምነት አፈጻፈም ግምገማ ላይ በመሳተፍ፣ በአማራ እና በኦሮሚያ ክልሎች ስላሉ ግጭቶች ሊወያዩ ነው።

በትግራይ ሲካሄድ የነበረውን ጦርነት ለማስቆም በተደረገው ጥረት ውስጥ ጉልህ ሚና እንደነበራቸው የሚነገርላቸው አምባሳደር ሐመር፣ የፕሪቶሪያው ስምምነት ሂደትን በተመለከተ በሚካሄደው ግምገማ ላይ መሳተፍ ዋነኛ የአዲስ አበባ ጉዟቸው ዓላማ መሆኑን የአሜሪካ የውጭ ጉዳይ መግለጫ አመልክቷል።

በተጨማሪም በአሁኑ ጊዜ በተባባሰው የአማራ ክልል ግጭት እና ዓመታትን ባስቆጠረው የኦሮሚያ ክልሉ አለመረጋጋት ዙሪያ ሰላም ለማምጣት በሚቻልበት ሁኔታ ላይ ከኢትዮጵያ መንግሥት ባለሥልጣናት ጋር በቆይታቸው ውይይት እንደሚያደርጉ ተገልጿል።

አምባሳደር ማይክ ሐመር በተለይም ደም አፋሳሹን የሰሜን ኢትዮጵያን የእስር በርስ ጦርትነት ያስቆመውን የፕሪቶሪያውን ስምምነት አፈጻጸም በተመለከተ በአፍሪካ ኅብረት አስተናጋጅነት ከየካቲት 28 አስከ መጋቢት 4/2016 ዓ.ም. በሚካሄድ ግምገማ ላይ እንደሚሳተፉ ተገልጿል

The US government’s special envoy to the Horn of Africa, Ambassador Mike Hamer, is participating in the evaluation of the implementation of the agreement reached between the Ethiopian government and the TPLF, and is going to discuss the conflicts in the Amhara and Oromia regions.

Ambassador Hamer, who is said to have played a significant role in the efforts to end the ongoing war in Tigray, said that the main purpose of his visit to Addis Ababa was to participate in the review of the Pretoria Agreement process.

In addition, it is stated that during their stay, they will hold discussions with the Ethiopian government officials on the possibility of bringing peace to the current conflict in the Amhara region and the instability of the Oromia region that has been going on for years.
