አዲሱ የደቡብ አፍሪካ መንግሥት የአንድነት መንግሥት ከዚህ ቀደም ከነበረው በተለየ ሁኔታ የራማፎሳን ኤኤንሲ፣ መሃል-ቀኝ ዘመሙን ዲሞክራቲክ አሊያንስን እና ሌሎች ትንንሽ ፓርቲዎችን ያቀፈ ነው።

ፕሬዝዳንት ራማፎሳ ከተመረጡ በኋላ ባደረጉት ንግግር ፓርቲዎች በጋራ መንግሥት መመሥረታቸውን አድንቀው፣ መራጮች ከመሪዎቻቸው “ለአገሪቱ ዜጎች በሙሉ መልካም ነገር በጋራ እንዲሠሩ እንደሚጠብቁ” ተናግረዋል።

ከሳምንት በፊት በተካሄደው ምርጫ ኤኤንሲ በአገሪቱ ፓርላማ ለ30 ዓመታት የነበረውን የበላይነት በማጣቱ መንግሥት ለመመሥረት ከሌሎች ፓርቲዎች ጋር የአንድነት መንግሥት ለመመሥረት ንግግር ሲያደርግ ቆይቷል።

South Africa’s parliament re-elected Cyril Ramaphosa as president after an agreement was reached between the ruling African National Congress (ANC) and opposition parties to form a crucial unity government.

The new South African government, unlike the previous unity government, is made up of Ramaphosa’s ANC, the centre-right Democratic Alliance and other smaller parties.

In his speech after his election, President Ramaphosa praised the parties for forming a coalition government and said that voters expect their leaders to “work together to do good things for all the citizens of the country”.

The ANC lost its 30-year dominance in the country’s parliament in the elections held a week ago, and has been talking about forming a unity government with other parties to form a government.
