የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋህዶ ቤተ ክርስቲያን ብፁዕ አቡነ ጴጥሮስ በቤተክርስቲያኗ ውስጥ ያላቸው ኃላፊነት ከግምት ገብቶ ወደ አገር እንዲገቡ እንዲፈቀድ ጠየቀች።

ቤተክርስቲያኗ ይህን የጠየቀችው የቅዱስ ሲኖዶስ ዋና ፀሐፊ እና የኒው ዮርክ እና አካባቢው ሀገረ ስብከት ሊቀ ጳጳስ የሆኑት አቡነ ጴጥሮስ ከውጭ አገር መልስ አገር እንዳይገቡ መከልከላቸው ከተገለጸ በኋላ ነው።

ቢቢሲ ከቤተክርስቲያኗ ሁለት አባቶች ጠይቆ አቡነ ጴጥሮስ ከቦሌ ዓለም አቀፍ አየር ማረፊያ እንዳይወጡ መከልከላቸው እውነት መሆኑን ለማረጋገጥ ችሏል።

በተጨማሪም አቡኑን ለመቀበል ወደ አየር ማረፊያው የሄዱ የቤተክርስቲያኑቱ ተወካዮች ይገቡበታል ከተባለው ሰዓት አንስቶ እየተጠባበቋቸው እንደነበረ አመልክተዋል።

የቤተክርስቲያኗ የሕዝብ ግንኙነት መምሪያ አቡነ ጴጥሮስ በሰሜን አሜሪካ የነበራቸውን ጉዞ አጠናቀው ኢትዮጵያ ከደረሱ በኋላ ወደ አገር እንዳይገቡ መከልከላቸውን አስታውቆ፣ ይኸው ክልከላ እንዲነሳ ቤተክርስቲያኗ መጠየቋን ገልጿል።

የቤተክርስቲያኗ የሕዝብ ግንኙነት መምሪያ አቡነ ጴጥሮስ ከሳምንታት በፊት በቋሚ ሲኖዶስ እውቅና ወደ ሀገረ ስብከታቸው ለሥራ ተጉዙው እንደነበረ አስታውሷል።

አቡኑ ከሳምንታት ቆይታ በኋላ ዛሬ ማክሰኞ ጥር 28/2016 ዓ.ም. አዲስ አበባ ቢመለሱም ማንነቱ ባልተገለጸ የመንግሥት አካል ከቦሌ አየር ማረፊያ እንዳይወጡ መከልከላቸውን ተገልጿል።

የሕዝብ ግንኙነቱ ማክሰኞ ከሰዓት በኋላ ባውጣው መግለጫ ወደ አገር እንዳይገቡ የተከለከሉት አቡነ ጴጥሮስ ቦሌ አየር ማረፊያ እንደሚገኙ ቢገልጽም ለምን እንዳይወጡ እንደተደረጉ ያለው ነገር የለም።

ከጠዋት ጀምሮ አቡኑ ወደ አዲስ አበባ እንደሚመለሱ በማኅበራዊ ሚዲያዎች ላይ የተነገረ ሲሆን፣ ከእኩለ ቀን ጀምሮ ደግሞ ከቦሌ አየር ማረፊያ እንዳይወጡ መከልከላቸውን የሚገልጹ መረጃዎች ከፎቶግራፋው ጋር በስፋት እየተዘዋወረ ነው።

The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church requested that Blessed Abune Petros be allowed to enter the country considering their responsibilities in the church.

The church asked this after it was announced that Abune Petros, the general secretary of the Holy Synod and the archbishop of New York and the surrounding area, was banned from entering the country.

The BBC asked two fathers from the church to confirm that Abune Petros was not allowed to leave Bole International Airport.

They also indicated that the representatives of the church who went to the airport to welcome him were waiting for him from the time he was supposed to arrive.

The Public Relations Department of the Church announced that Abune Petros was barred from entering the country after completing his trip to North America and arrived in Ethiopia.

The Public Relations Department of the Church recalled that Abune Petros traveled to his diocese for work with the approval of the Permanent Synod a few weeks ago.

Abunu, after a few weeks, today, Tuesday, January 28/2016. Although they returned to Addis Ababa, they were prevented from leaving Bole Airport by an unidentified government body.
