ለሳምንታት የዘለቀውን ከፍተኛ ጫና እና በአገሪቱ እየጨመረ ያለውን የከፋ ነውጥ ተከትሎ የሄይቲ ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ኤሪየል ሄንሪ ከስልጣን ለመልቀቅ መስማማታቸውን የካሪቢያን አገራት ቡድን ሊቀ መንበር አስታወቁ።

የቀጣናው መሪዎች በሄይቲ የፖለቲካ ሽግግር ላይ ለመምከር ሰኞ ዕለት በጃማይካ መገናኘታቸውንም ተከትሎ ነው የጠቅላይ ሚኒስትሩ ከስልጣን ለመልቀቅ መስማማታቸው የተነገረው።

ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትሩ በአሁኑ ወቅት በታጠቁ ቡድኖች ወደ አገራቸው እንዳይመለሱ በመከልከላቸው በፖርቶ ሪኮ ውስጥ ይገኛሉ።

ከቀድሞው የሄይቲ ፕሬዚዳንት ግድያ፣ ከአውሮፓውያኑ 2021 ጀምሮም አገሪቱን ሲመሩ ቆይተዋል።

በጃማይካ መዲና ኪንግስተን የተካሄደውንም ስብሰባ ተከትሎ የካሪቢያን አገራት ማህበረሰብ ሊቀመንበር እና የጋያና ፕሬዚዳንት ኢርፋን አሊ እንደተናገሩ “የሽግግር ፕሬዚዳንት ምክር ቤት መቋቋም፣ ጊዜያዊ ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር እንዲሰየም እንዲሁም ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትሩ ከስልጣን መልቀቃቸውን እናረጋግጣለን” ብለዋል።

በቅርብ ቀናት ውስጥ የታጠቁ ቡድኖች የሄይቲ መዲና ፖርቲ ኦ ፕሪንስን ጎዳናዎች በመቆጣጠር ያልተመረጡት ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ከስልጣን እንዲለቁ ጠይቀዋል።

የታጣቂ ቡድኖች ጥምረት በፖሊስ ጣቢያዎች ላይ ጥቃት በመሰንዘር እንዲሁም ሁለቱን የሄይቲ ትላልቅ እስር ቤቶች መውረራቸውን ተከትሎ ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትሩ የአለም አቀፍ የጸጥታ ኃይል በአገራቸው እንዲሰማራላቸው ውል ለመፈረም በኬንያ ተገኝተው ነበር።

ከኬንያ ሲመለሱም ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትሩን የጫነው አውሮፕላን በተከተታይ ጥቃት ባስተናገደው የሄይቲ አለም አቀፍ አውሮፕላን እንዳያርፍ ተደረገ።

Haitian Prime Minister Ariel Henry has agreed to resign following weeks of intense pressure and growing anger in the country, the chairman of the Caribbean group of countries announced.

The Prime Minister’s agreement to step down comes after regional leaders met in Jamaica on Monday to discuss Haiti’s political transition.

The Prime Minister is currently in Puerto Rico, prevented from returning home by armed groups.

He has been leading the country since the assassination of the former president of Haiti, the European Union 2021.

Following the meeting held in Kingston, Jamaica, the Chairman of the Caribbean Community and the President of Guyana, Irfan Ali, said, “We will confirm the establishment of a transitional presidential council, the appointment of an interim prime minister, and the resignation of the prime minister.”

In recent days, armed groups have taken over the streets of Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, demanding the resignation of the unelected prime minister.

The prime minister was in Kenya to sign an agreement to deploy an international security force to Haiti after a coalition of armed groups attacked police stations and stormed two of Haiti’s largest prisons.

On his return from Kenya, the plane carrying the Prime Minister was prevented from landing by the Haitian International Airport which was subjected to a series of attacks.
