ኬንያ በኢትዮጵያ እና በሶማሊያ መካከል የተፈጠረው ውጥረት ለማርገብ ያስችላል ያለችውን ቀጠናዊ የባሕር ጠረፍ አገልግሎት አጠቃቀም ስምምነት አማራጭ አቀረበች።

ይህ ኬንያ ያቀረበችው አማራጭ በቀጠናው የሚገኙ የባሕር በር የሌላቸው አገራት በንግድ ስምምነት መሠረት የባሕር መተላለፊያ አገልግሎት እና ጥቅም የሚያገኙበትን ዕድል የሚፈጥር ነው ተብሏል።

ከጥቂት ወራት በፊት ኢትዮጵያ እና ከሶማሊያ ተገንጥላ ነጻ አገርነቷን ካወጀችው ሶማሊላንድ ጋር የባሕር በር ለማግኘት የመግባቢያ ሠነደ መፈረሟ በአዲስ አበባ እና ሞቃዲሾ መካከል ከፍተኛ ውጥረትን ፈጥሯል።

ኢትዮጵያ እና ሶማሊላንድ ታኅሣሥ 22/2016 ዓ.ም. አዲስ አበባ ላይ በመሪዎቻቸው መካከል የተፈራረሙት የመግባቢያ ሠነድ ኢትዮጵያ ነጻ አገር መሆኗን ላወጀችው ሶማሊላንድ ዕውቅናን ለመስጠት፣ ሶማሊላንድ በምላሹ ለኢትዮጵያ የባሕር በር ለመፍቀድ ከስምምነት መድረሳቸው መዘገቡ ይታወሳል።

ይህንንም ሶማሊላንድን የግዛቱ አንድ አካል እንደሆነች የሚገልጸው የሶማሊያ መንግሥት ስምምነቱን አጥብቆ በመቃወም፣ የአገሪቱን ሉዓላዊነት የሚጥስ ድርጊት ነው በማለት አጥብቆ ተቃውሞታል።

ይህን ተከትሎ ሶማሊያ በሞቃዲሾ የሚገኘቱን የኢትዮጵያን አምባሳደር ከአገር አስወጥታ በአዲስ አበባ የሚገኙትን አምባሳደሯን ባለፈው ሳምንት ጠርታለች።

በሁለቱ የአፍሪካ ቀንድ አገራት መካከል የተፈጠረውን ውዝግብ ለማርገብ ኬንያ አሁን አማራጭ ያለችውን ሐሳብ ወደ ጠረጴዛ አምጥታለች።

Kenya offered an alternative to the Regional Coastal Service Agreement, which it said would ease tensions between Ethiopia and Somalia.

This option offered by Kenya is said to create opportunities for landlocked countries in the region to get access to sea passage services and benefits under trade agreements.

A few months ago, the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Ethiopia and Somaliland, which declared its independence from Somalia, to have access to a sea port, has created a lot of tension between Addis Ababa and Mogadishu.
