የኢትዮጵያ መንግሥት ፆታዊ ጥቃት ፈጻሚዎችን የሚመዘግብ ሥርዓት ሊጀምር መሆኑን የሴቶች እና ማኅበራዊ ጉዳይ ሚኒስቴር ገለጸ።

ምዝገባው ፆታን መሠረት አድርገው የሚፈጸሙ ጥቃቶችን ለመከላከል እና ለመቀነስ ያለመ ነው የተባለ ሲሆን፣ በተለይ “ወሲባዊ ጥቃቶች ላይ ትኩረት” እንደሚያደርግ ተነግሯል።

በሴቶች እና ማኅበራዊ ጉዳይ ሚኒስቴር የሴቶች መብት እና ጥበቃ ዋና ሥራ አስፈጻሚ አቶ ስለሺ ታደሰ፣ የምዝገባ ሥርዓቱን ለመጀመር 10 ሚሊዮን ብር እንደሚፈጅ ለቢቢሲ የተናገሩ ሲሆን፣ ይህ በጀት በተለያዩ አካላት መዋጮ እንደሚሸፈንም ጠቁመዋል።

ይህ ‘ብሔራዊ የፆታዊ ጥቃት ወንጀል ምዝገባ ሥርዓት’ በሚቀጥለው ዓመት ወደ ሥራ ይገባል ተብሎ ይጠበቃል።

በኢትዮጵያ ከጥቂት ዓመታት በፊት የተደረገ ጥናት ከጠቅላላ የአገሪቱ ሴቶች 35 በመቶዎቹ የተለያዩ ዓይነት ፆታዊ ጥቃቶች እንደሚደርሱባቸው ያሳያል።

‘ብሔራዊ የፆታዊ ጥቃት ወንጀል ምዝገባ ሥርዓት’ የተሰኘው ሥርዓቱ፣ ጥቃት ፈጻሚዎች በሕግ ከታሰሩ እና ቅጣት ከተላለፈባቸው በኋላም ለዘለዓለም ተጠያቂ የሚያደርግ እና “ከተመረጡ” ማኅበራዊ እና ኢኮኖሚያዊ ግልጋሎቶች የሚያገል መሆኑ ታውቋል።

The Ministry of Women and Social Affairs stated that the government of Ethiopia is about to start a system to register perpetrators of sexual violence.

The registry is said to be aimed at preventing and reducing gender-based violence, with a particular “focus on sexual violence”.

Selshi Tadese, Chief Executive of Women’s Rights and Protection at the Ministry of Women and Social Affairs, told the BBC that it will cost 10 million birr to start the registration system, and he pointed out that this budget will be covered by contributions from various bodies.

This ‘National Sexual Violence Offender Registration System’ is expected to be operational next year.

A study conducted in Ethiopia a few years ago shows that 35 percent of all women in the country experience various types of sexual violence.

It is known that the system called ‘National Sexual Assault Crime Registration System’ holds the perpetrators accountable forever after they have been arrested and sentenced, and they struggle with “selective” social and economic services.
