በአወዛጋቢዎቹ የራያ አካባቢዎች ባለው አለመረጋጋት ምክንያት የተፈናቀሉ ነዋሪዎች በቆቦ፣ በሰቆጣ፣ በወልዲያ እና በሐሙሲት ከተሞች መጠለላቸውን ተፈናቃዎች እና በአማራ ክልል የተሾሙት የወረዳዎቹ አስተዳዳሪዎች ለቢቢሲ ተናገሩ።

ካለፈው ሳምንት መጨረሻ ጀምሮ ከትግራይ ኃይሎች በተደረጉ የተኩስ ልውውጦች አለመረጋጋት ውስጥ የገቡት ስድስቱ የራያ ወረዳ እና ከተማ አስተዳደሮች፤ በአማራ ክልል መንግሥት ስር በተመሠረቱላቸው መዋቅሮች ስር መተዳደር ማቆማቸውን አራት የወረዳዎቹ አመራሮች ለቢቢሲ ተናግረዋል።

የትግራይ ኃይሎች በተለይም የገጠር ቀበሌዎችን መቆጣጠራቸውን የዛታ ወረዳ ዋና አስተዳዳሪ አቶ ካሳሁን መኮንን እና የወፍላ ወረዳ ዋና አስተዳዳሪ አቶ ፍሰሐ ሞላ ገልፀዋል። ይህንን ተከትሎም የሁለቱ ወረዳዎች አመራሮች እና ነዋሪዎች ከማክሰኞ ዕለት ጀምሮ ወደ አጎራባች አካባቢዎች መሸሻቸውን ተናግረዋል።

ተፈናቃዮቹ በአስር ሺህዎች የሚቆጠሩ ሰዎች ከእነዚህ አካባቢዎች መጠለላቸውን ተናግረው፤ የአላማጣ ከተማ ከንቲባ አቶ ኃይሉ አበራ በበኩላቸው 30 ሺህ ገደማ የራያ አካባቢ ነዋሪዎች መፈናቀላቸውን አስረድተዋል።

ቢቢሲ ስለተፈናቃዮች መረጃ ለማግኘት ወደ ተጠለሉባቸው ሁለት ዞኖች ኃላፊዎች ያደረጋቸው የስልክ ጥሪዎች ምላሽ አላገኙም።

Due to the unrest in the disputed Raya areas, displaced residents have taken shelter in the cities of Kobo, Sota, Woldia and Hamusit.

Since the end of last week, the six Raya district and city administrations have been in turmoil due to the shootings by Tigray forces; Four district leaders told the BBC that they have stopped managing under the structures established by the Amhara regional government.

The chief administrator of Zata district, Mr. Kasahun Mekonen, and the chief administrator of Wofla district, Mr. Fsaha Mola, said that the forces of Tigray have taken control, especially the rural kebeles. Following this, the leaders and residents of the two districts have fled to neighboring areas since Tuesday.

Five residents of Korum and Alamata towns that the BBC spoke to have taken shelter in Kobo and Woldia towns in the northern Wolo zone, as well as Sekota town and Hamusit Kebele under the administration of Sekota Wag Khmra ethnic group.

The evacuees said that tens of thousands of people have taken shelter from these areas. Alamata Mayor Ato Hailu Abera explained that about 30,000 residents of Raya area have been displaced.

Phone calls made by the BBC to officials in the two sheltered zones for information about the evacuees went unanswered.
