በጎርፍ ከ80 ሰዎች በላይ የሞቱባት ኬንያ የትምህርት ቤቶች መክፈቻ ዕለትን በሳምንት አዘገየች።

አውሎንፋስ በቀላቀለ ዝናብ ምክንያት በጎርፍ የተጥለቀለቀችው ኬንያ ትምህርት ቤቶችን መክፈት ለተማሪዎቹ እና ሰራተኞቹ ስጋት መሆኑን ገልጻለች።

መረጃዎች እንደሚያሳዩት በመላው አገሪቷ ያሉ ትምህርት ቤቶች በጎርፍ ምክንያት ጉዳት እንደደረሰባቸው የትምህርት ሚኒስትሩ ኤዚኪየን ማሾጉ እሁድ እለት ባወጡት መግለጫ አስፍረዋል።

“በከፍተኛ ሁኔታ እየጣለ ያለው ዝናብ በአንዳንድ ትምህርት ቤቶች ላይ ያደረሰው ጉዳት እጅግ የከፋ ከመሆኑ ጋር ተያይዞ የጎርፍ አደጋን የመከላከል እርምጃ ከመውሰዱ በፊት የተማሪዎችን እና የሰራተኞችን ህይወት አደጋ ላይ መጣል የማይታሰብ ነው” ሲሉ ሚኒስትሩ አክለዋል።

በኬንያ የሚገኙ ሁሉም ትምህርት ቤቶች ለሁለተኛ መንፈቅ ዓመት ሚያዝያ 21/ 2016 ዓ.ም መከፈት ቢኖርባቸውም በጎርፍ ምክንያት የሚከፈቱበት ጊዜ ወደ ሚያዝያ 28 ተራዝሟል።

Kenya, which was inundated by torrential rains, has said opening schools poses a risk to students and staff.

According to reports, schools across the country have been damaged by the floods, Education Minister Ezekiel Mashogu said in a statement on Sunday.

“With the heavy rains causing damage to some schools, it is unthinkable to put the lives of students and staff at risk before flood prevention measures are taken,” the minister added.

All schools in Kenya were supposed to open on April 21/2016 for the second year, but due to floods, the opening date was extended to April 28.
